If a player is not comfortable with 'it' pronouns for a human, the mun is happy to switch to 'them' for threading, since she is pretty sure Bel would use 'them' pronouns if the first book they appeared in hadn't been written like twenty-five years ago.
Bel Thorne is from the Vorkosigan Saga novels by L. M. Bujold. It is a mercenary captain, in love with adventure and chaos and with a streak of vile, black humor in its heart. It prefers 'it' pronouns, in line with the canon pronouns accepted for hermaphrodites, but finds it hilarious to be misgendered and to confuse people, because it has a black and vile heart.
